NCAH has successfully supported the Regional Livestock Development Centre (RLDC), Kanglung, through the installation of Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) technology and training of laboratory personnel. This advancement is expected to significantly enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of disease diagnosis in the region.

The introduction of RT-PCR capability will play a critical role in improving disease surveillance systems, enabling early detection, and facilitating prompt response to emerging and transboundary animal diseases.

In parallel, the team is undertaking a comprehensive biorisk assessment of the regional laboratories to strengthen biosafety and biosecurity practices. This initiative aims to ensure safe laboratory operations, minimize potential risks, and align with national and international standards.
