16 – 17 Jan 2024: Mid-Term Progress Review and Planning Meeting

The National Centre for Animal Health (NCAH) organized its annual staff meeting on January 16 and 17, 2024, to assess the mid-term progress spanning from July to December 2023 and strategize for the implementation of pending activities from January to June 2024.

On the initial day of the meeting, in alignment with the annual work plan developed at the commencement of the fiscal year 2023-2024 and as stipulated in the annual performance agreement with the Department, the Centre reviewed and discussed the achieved progress. The assessment unveiled an impressive status, showcasing that the majority of activities were already in progress for implementation, with some having reached completion

During the second day of the meeting, the focus shifted to deliberating and planning for the impending activities. Additionally, a comprehensive review of the activities slated under the Pandemic Fund and the FAO e-TCP for ASF prevention and control projects took place. Prioritization of certain activities for implementation in the latter half of the fiscal year occurred as well.

To foster an inclusive environment and obtain valuable input on leadership and management within the Centre, the officiating Program Director conducted a Mentimeter session involving both technical and non-technical staff. The session encouraged active participation, aiming to shape NCAH into an exemplary institute where everyone is recognized, and a conducive working environment is established for optimal performance.

The two-day meeting concluded with a Tashi Khadar and a cake-cutting ceremony, commemorating the promotions of two individuals at the center: Dr. Pelden Wangchuk, promoted to P2A, and Ms. Menuka Rai, promoted to SS1.
