A four-day workshop on development of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Surveillance Strategy and Data Analysis on AMR in Mastitis is being conducted in Bumthang from 6–9 October 2025. The workshop is attended by representatives from National Center for Animal Health (NCAH), National Veterinary Hospital (NVH), Regional Livestock Development Center (RLDC), Kanglung, Regional Veterinary Hospital and Epidemiology Center (RVH & ECs), Phuntsholing, Gelephu, Dewathang and Dzongkhag Veterinary Hospitals (DVH) Thimphu, Samtse, Yangtsi, Monger and College of Natural Resources (CNR), Lobeysa.
The Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Surveillance Strategy was developed for different animal species and covered key modules focused on strengthening the national AMR surveillance framework across multiple animal species. The workshop emphasized standardization of surveillance protocols, reporting mechanisms, and strategic planning for national AMR monitoring and response in animal Health. Analysis was also carried out on the AMR data from the mastitis surveillance.
The workshop is being organized by the National Centre for Animal Health (NCAH) in collaboration with Fleming Fund, PMU. The event is funded by the Fleming Fund Country Grant phase II.
