Sensitization meeting on Implementation of Gid Control Program and Highland Animal Health in Bumthang

A one-day sensitization meeting on Implementation of Gid Control Program and Highland Animal Health is being conducted at NHRDC conference hall, Bumthang on 4 December 2020. The objective of the meeting is to sensitize the local leaders and the relevant stakeholders about the national highland development program and to garner support of the local leaders and highland communities to ensure effective implementation of the program. The meeting is jointly organized by the National Centre for Animal Health, Serbithang and the National Highland Research and Development Centre, Bumthang. It is chaired by the Dzongkhag Tshogdu Thrizin of Bumthang Dzongkhag. In the attendance are the gups of Bumthang dhey-zhi, officials from the Department of Livestock, National Centre for Animal Health, National Highland Research and Development Centre, Wangchuck Centennial National Park, Central Farms and Dzongkhag Livestock Sector, Bumthang. The meeting will be followed by strategic deworming of yak-dogs against gid and other nematodal parasites and conduct of awareness program on gid and other highland animal diseases in Dhur, Nasphel, Gomthang, and Khangdhang villages under Chhoekhor Gewog for the highlanders who have moved down to their winter migratory destination.
