The National Centre for Animal Health (NCAH), Serbithang, marked an important leadership transition with a formal handing-taking ceremony held on 24th July 2025.
Dr. Sangay Rinchen, the outgoing Program Director, officially handed over his responsibilities to Dr. Lungten, former Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Unit (DPCU). Dr. Sangay Rinchen will be proceeding abroad to pursue a 3.6-year PhD program.
The ceremony was attended by all Unit Heads and staff of NCAH, who expressed deep appreciation for Dr. Sangay Rinchen’s dedicated service and his significant contributions in strengthening animal health programs and institutional systems under the Centre’s mandate. The management also expressed full confidence in Dr. Lungten’s leadership and reaffirmed its commitment to furthering the vision and mission of NCAH under his guidance.
A farewell programme was organized the following day, 25th July 2025, in honour of Dr. Sangay Rinchen. The event was graced by the Officiating Director of the Department of Livestock, the Chief of the Animal Health Division, officials from the Department, and other well-wishers, who offered their appreciation and best wishes for his future academic and professional endeavors.
The management and staff of NCAH wish Dr. Sangay Rinchen a successful and fulfilling journey ahead, while extending a warm welcome to Dr. Lungten as he assumes a new role at the Centre.
