IHR, JEE mission Team visit

As a part of ongoing International Health Regulations (IHR), Joint evaluation exercise (JEE) mission team visited NCAH on 17/06/2025. The main aim of the visit was to assess the capacity of animal health in meeting the standards of IHR.

The purpose of the external evaluation is to measure country-specific status and progress in developing capacity to prevent, detect and rapidly respond to public health threats, be they naturally occurring, deliberate or accidental. The first external evaluation was carried out during 2017 which established a baseline measurement of the country’s capacity and capabilities. This  evaluations are aimed to identify progress made and sustainability of improvements.

JEEs have a number of important features including voluntary country participation; a multisectoral approach by both the external teams and the host countries; transparency and openness of data and information sharing; and the public release of reports. Hence, the visit is expected to guide the team to assess the scoring of self-assessment made by the sector for the JEE of 2025.
