Block Day on Preventive Veterinary Medicine (VET203)

On 30th September 2025, 2nd year students of BSc, Animal Science learners from the College of Natural Resources (CNR), led by Dr. Jigdrel, visited the National Centre for Animal Health (NCAH), Serbithang, Thimphu.

The purpose of the visit was to observe and gain hands-on experience with the various tests conducted at the National Laboratory Service Unit, as well as to familiarize themselves with other units: the Biological Production Unit, Disease Prevention and Control Unit, Dog Population and Management Unit, and the Drug, Vaccine and Equipment Unit at the NCAH.

The one-day (Block Day) educational tour commenced with a presentation by the Program Director, who highlighted the vision, mission, and mandates of the Centre, along with other key topics. This was followed by an interactive Q&A session, after which the students visited the Laboratory Service Unit for practical exposure and demonstrations.
