Hands-on training on microbiology techniques for culture, identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing of target bacteria from Poultry

A five days “Hands-on training on microbiology techniques for culture, identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing of target bacteria from Poultry” is underway w.e.f 28th October to 1st November 2020 at National Centre for Animal Health (NCAH), Serbithang. About 30 participants from National Veterinary Laboratory (NVL), Regional Livestock Development Centres (RLDCs) and National Veterinary Hospital (NVH) under the Department of Livestock (DoL), and National Food Testing Laboratory (NFTL) under Bhutan Agriculture & Food Regulatory Authority (BAFRA) took part in the training. The resource persons were from NCAH, Royal Centre for Disease Control (RCDC) and BAFRA. Main objectives of the training is to strengthen bacteriology diagnostic capacity at NVL, RLDCs and NVH under DoL, and NFTL under BAFRA for target organisms like Campylobacter, Enterococcus, Salmonella and E.coli.
