Outbreak of Hemorrhagic Septicemia was suspected in two yak herds of Chhoekhor Gewog, Bumthang Dzongkhag, currently en-route to their summer pasture . As per the outbreak investigation (carried on 15th and 16th May 2020) report, the index case was recorded on 30 April 2020, following which 3 more yaks were affected. Since no fresh cases were observed at the time of team's visit, no samples could be collected for laboratory confirmation. Outbreak of Foot and mouth disease was reported from Tintaley and Devitar village of Lhamoi Dzingkha Gewog, Dagana Dzongkhag. As per the flash report shared, the outbreak has started since 20 April 2020, and a total of 16 cattle (Tintaley - 9, Devitar - 7) were affected; no mortality recorded so far. A case of black quarter, a bacterial disease caused by Clostridium chauvoei, in cattle was reported from Shobling village, Nangkor gewog, Zhemgang Dzongkhag, on 6 April 2020. Dzongkhag livestock sector carried out proper burial of the carcass and ring vaccination to control further spread of the infection.
